About the USTA Northern California (USTA NorCal) Section
Founded in 1881, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in this country. In addition to owning the U.S. Open and selecting members of the U.S. Davis Cup, Fed Cup, Olympic and Paralympic teams, the USTA administers a variety of programs nationwide for players of all ages and ability levels.

USTA Northern California (USTA NorCal) Section, located in Alameda, California, is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization with 34,897 adult members, 8,636 junior members and 520 organization members as of August '06. The USTA NorCal Section is one of the 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, the governing body of tennis in America.

As the 8th largest geographic section, USTA Northern California Section has been promoting, servicing, and administering USTA programs for over 53 years. With over 30 staff members and hundreds of volunteers, USTA NorCal is devoted to promoting and developing the growth of tennis in Northern California.
